i am a male human being from dublin, ireland. i write a piece for the irish times every week, some of which appear here. most of them don’t, though, because a thousand words looks like “war and peace” on a blog.
i like all foods but celery. i don’t like wearing flip-flops.
thanks for stopping by…

Hoping to contact you asap for piece for broadcast at 11.00 on Monday

Hi,
love the blog. I’ve been writing TheTannoy for the past few years, and just linked to you. Wondered if you’d return the favour.
Yours,
Emmet
thanks for that, emmett. welcome to my blogroll / world.
Re: celery - I think it’s all to do with that empty smell. If you ever feel like getting over your hatred, I think that’s the way to tackle it!
the idea of an empty smell is ghostly and poetic.
I really like your pieces in the Irish Times magazine every week. Why on earth are they on the back page? When the Front Page opinion piece (now entitled “Up Front”) was up for grabs after Roisin Ingle moved on, I was amazed that your articles hadn’t moved there. Your articles are, in my opinion, far more interesting than what is and has been published on the front page of the magazine.
hear hear!
thanks r+r - you never get tired of hearing things like that. i think the idea with the front page was to give lots of new writers some decent exposure rather than the same old faces and their continual moaning (i.e me). so rosie, get the pen out and hit them up!
thanks again.

you think? if they actually published it i’d be so proud that my head would explode (i know, it’s all kinds of sad).
how exactly would one go about submitting stuff to them?
